Games

Party games online that you play together, in the same room: that's the idea behind this category. Open a game on one phone, pass it around or put it in the middle of the table, and the whole group is in. It works for house parties, family nights, birthdays or friends who can't decide what to do after dinner.

Every game here is built for one phone, so nobody needs to install an app, create an account or join an online room. Everything is free and runs in the browser. If you've been looking for group games to play on your phone, start here.

Hidden-role games: Spyfall and Mafia

In Spyfall, everyone looks at the phone in turn and sees the same secret word or place, except the spy, whose card is blank. Then you take turns asking each other questions: answer well enough to prove you know the secret, but vaguely enough that the spy can't work it out. It plays with three to twenty people, has Word and Place modes, and bigger groups can add more than one spy.

Mafia needs five to twenty players and one host. The phone deals the hidden roles, the host calls night and day, and the accusing and voting happen out loud around the table. Choose Classic, the Mafia Nights scenario with its specialty roles or a Custom setup, and switch on Last Move Cards if your group likes a twist.

Question and dare games

Question games are the easiest way to get people talking.

  • Truth or Dare comes with separate decks for friends, couples and kids, plus a clearly marked 18+ deck, so pick the right one before the first turn.
  • Never Ever has someone read a statement, and everyone who has done it puts a finger down.
  • Would You Rather offers two options and no right answer, which makes it a great icebreaker with new people or a long debate with old friends.
  • Most Likely To asks the group to vote on who best fits each prompt, and it's at its funniest with close friends who can take a joke.

Charades for every age

Charades here is the forehead version made famous by Heads Up: the guesser holds the phone up so everyone else can see the word, and the room gives clues before the timer runs out. Play Solo or in two to four teams, tilt the phone to mark a correct guess or a pass if you like, and pick a word deck such as movies, animals or food. It's easy for every age, which makes it a safe bet for family gatherings.

Party tools: Finger Chooser and Spin the Wheel

With Finger Chooser, everyone puts a finger on the same screen and one is picked at random, or the group is split into two color teams. Spin the Wheel has ready-made wheels like truth or dare, yes or no and who pays the bill, or you can type your own list to decide who goes first or who takes the next dare.

Choosing a game for your group

  • Big group: Mafia and Spyfall shine with six or more people, and Charades in teams keeps a crowd shouting.
  • Two or three people: Would You Rather, Never Ever or a round of Truth or Dare work better.
  • Loud room or quiet start: go for Charades when the energy is high; open with Would You Rather if people are still warming up.
  • With kids around: stick to Charades, Spyfall, Spin the Wheel and the kids deck in Truth or Dare, and save the adult question games for grown-ups.

Getting started takes about a minute: open the game, set the number of players if it asks, and hand the phone to the first person. For viral picks like Finger Chooser, also check TikTok Games.
