How to play Charades on one phone
Pick a category, then choose Solo or Team. In Team mode you set 2, 3, or 4 teams and how many rounds (1, 3, or 5). Round time is 30, 60, or 90 seconds. Hand the phone to the guesser so the screen faces everyone else. Friends give clues; the guesser says the word out loud.
Mark Correct or Pass with the on-screen buttons. If you allow motion, you can also tilt the phone: up for Correct, down for Pass. Buttons always work even when motion is off. Words you have already seen on that phone are remembered so repeats come later.
Categories
There are 18 decks, including Random Mix, Movies, Animals, Sports, Food, Music, Characters, Celebrities, Places, Professions, Actions, Objects, Emotions, Holidays, Gadgets, Nature, Vehicles, and TV Shows. You can also set a play language for the words that is different from the site language.
Solo and Team
Solo is one continuous round on the timer. Team rotates guessers between rounds and keeps a scoreboard. After each turn the phone goes to the next team’s guesser while the rest give clues.
What this version is not
It is for people in the same place sharing one phone. There are no online rooms and no matchmaking. Friends in another city cannot join the same round through this page.
FAQ
Is this the same as Heads Up?
Same forehead idea: the guesser cannot see the word and the room gives clues. Traditional silent mime Charades is different; you can still play quieter if the group agrees.
Do I need to download anything?
No. It opens in your browser and it is free.
How many players?
Solo works with two people (one guesser, one clue-giver). Team mode supports 2 to 4 teams.
Can we play online with friends elsewhere?
No. This version is local. There are no rooms.
