Games
Brain games online at Slice Games are free logic puzzles you can open in your browser and start right away, with no download and no sign-up. This category is for games that are about thinking rather than fast fingers: number puzzles, deduction, pattern memory and a few classic strategy board games.
Every puzzle loads in seconds, with no long tutorials and no cluttered menus. Pick one, make your first move and see where your logic takes you, whether you've got five minutes or a whole evening.
Number puzzles
- Sudoku is the headline act: fill a 9×9 grid so that every row, column and 3×3 box holds the numbers 1 to 9 exactly once. Five levels run from Easy to Master, notes and undo are built in, and hints point to the solving technique instead of giving away the digit, so you actually learn how a grid opens up.
- Sumagi, an original Slice Games puzzle, asks you to connect neighboring numbers, moving only up, down, left or right, into one path that adds up exactly to a target.
- 2048 is the merge classic: slide tiles on a 4×4 board, combine matching numbers and chase the 2048 tile, with Swap and Bomb moves to rescue a board that's about to lock up.
Deduction and memory
Minesweeper is pure deduction. Every number tells you how many of the surrounding tiles hide a mine, and your job is to clear the board without touching one. Choose Beginner, Intermediate or Expert, the same board sizes you may remember from old Windows PCs, and relax on the first click, which is always safe. Flag a mine with a right-click, or a long-press on your phone.
The Sequence Game tests something different: watch a pattern light up, repeat it in the same order, and keep going as it grows by one step every round. There's no finish line, only your own best run to beat.
Where to start
If you're new, try Sudoku on Easy or Minesweeper on Beginner; both teach you their logic within a few rounds. A round or two a day fits nicely into a commute or a coffee break. Strategy fans will also find the two-player classics Reversi (Othello), Connect Four, Tic-Tac-Toe (XO) and Quoridor in this section; their main home is Board Games.
Brain games for adults
They're made with adults in mind and are just as fine for teens. We won't promise they'll boost your IQ or your memory; they're simply clean, fair logic puzzles that are fun to solve. Every game works in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and Sudoku saves your current puzzle in the browser so you can finish it later. If numbers are your thing, Math Games puts 2048, Sudoku and Sumagi side by side.
