Games
Reflex games online are short, sharp tests of how fast you react and how accurately you click or tap. Everything in this category runs free in your browser on a phone or computer, with no download and no account, and most rounds take only seconds.
Here you'll find an F1-style start-lights reaction time test, a color game that punishes impatience and an aim trainer with shrinking targets. They're quick enough for a break, competitive enough to pass around your friends and simple enough that nobody needs instructions.
The games
- Lights Out Reflex is an F1 reaction test inspired by a race start: five red lights come on, stay lit for a different length of time every round and then go dark. Click or tap the instant they go out and your reaction time appears in milliseconds; jump early and it counts as a false start.
- Color Lock gives you one target color, and you tap only when that exact color appears. Tap too soon, hit the wrong color or hesitate and the round is over, so self-control matters as much as speed.
- Aim Test runs for 20 seconds with one target on screen at a time, and the targets get smaller as the clock runs down. Hit as many as you can; clicks on empty space count as misses.
Reading your results
Play several rounds of Lights Out Reflex and look at your results together rather than at one lucky attempt; a lower number of milliseconds means a faster response. Aim Test shows your hits, taps and accuracy after each round and saves your best one, so you can compare yourself with yourself. Keep in mind that these are browser tests: your screen, device and input all affect the numbers, so compare results on the same setup.
How to improve
With practice most people become more consistent, mainly because they stop guessing and start watching.
- Warm up with a few rounds before chasing a record.
- Play when you're rested rather than tired.
- In Color Lock, resist the urge to tap early.
- On a computer, a responsive mouse and a low-latency screen shave a little delay off the time between your reaction and the game registering it.
Tapping on a phone often feels more natural, though Aim Test feels closer to mouse aiming on a computer. When you want something slower that rewards thinking instead, head to Brain Games.
